Four nations are still undefeated in both the Men’s and Women’s World Championships and they are the “big four” who have already exited in the Under 19 Championship. Argentina, Italy, Portugal and Spain, but the latter suffered two ties yesterday. The four powers today all scored eight victories: Argentina and Portugal had the easiest rounds on the fixture. Argentina defeated the USA 9-2 in the men’s game and Colombia women 8-0, while Portugal defeated France 5-0 in the women’s game and Angola 4-0 in the men’s game. The Italian calendar is more important: in the women’s match, the hosts defeated Chile 3-2, with the last “Azzurro” goal a few minutes from the end on a penalty shot. In the late evening, Italy beat France 1-0 in front of over 2000 people. Spain has also returned to the voice of the lion that everyone knows. At the women’s level they won 14-0 against Great Britain and 12-0 against Chile. Two results that make them leap forward in the standings and tomorrow there will be two direct clashes for both men and women in the two groups B, whoever wins advances as before. It’s a “tough” day also for Portugal who will have a double match against Argentina. one at 15:00 (women) and 17:30 (men).
The two matches will be live on RTP1, the Portuguese public channel, and on Canale 7 Mendoza and Canale 8 San Juan in Argentina, while the Italian matches are broadcast by Rai Sport.
It is also the day of the decision who will be relegated to the Senior Men World Championship and who will be promoted from the Senior Men Intercontinental Championship and will play the Quarterfinals in the world championship.
It will be a deferred match between Andorra and Great Britain for promotion from Group D: the 2-2 on the second day will give the last chance in the last match, not only for the victory but also for the goal difference given that they are at 4 points both. In Group C, however, the direct clash between Switzerland and Germany will decide who will be promoted. For the Swiss, winners today 17-0 against Australia, only a tie will be enough while Germany, who drew 1-1 against Colombia today, must win.
In the Senior Women Intercontinental Championship, Germany and Brazil lead Group A with full points (6 points), while Australia remains in first place alone (with one more match)
The five matches at PalaVerdi for the Challengers Championship are showing five scoring teams. In Group E, Israel, Uruguay and Mozambique are at full points with six points and the match between two of them on Wednesday will be decisive. In Group F, Netherlands and Austria have full points, while Holland has one more match.
