22 matches were played on the first day of the Senior World Championships. In the Women Rink Hockey world, the most unexpected result was Spain’s 1-1 draw with Chile. Portugal, Argentina and Italy respond with a victory that takes them to the top of the World Championship. In the Intercontinental (from 9th position onwards) Germany, Brazil, Japan, Egypt and Andorra achieved their first victories, some large and some narrow.
In the Men World, the second tie of the day is between Spain and France. Again 1-1, and Portugal, Argentina and Italy are still victorious and are therefore 3 points away in the standings.
In the Intercontinental we can already see the teams that can move on to the “A” World Cup because the European teams Great Britain, Andorra, Switzerland and Germany are already at a good point in the standings after their four victories on their debut.
Among the Challengers (from 17th position onwards), Brazil, Netherlands, Uruguay, South Africa and Mozambique signed their victory, in a group where the most balanced match was Mozambique-Mexico.
Second very interesting day on the men’s side because the home teams of Italy have fundamental matches for their qualification for the playoffs, but the others don’t want to be outdone.
