Spain is the new Under 19 World Championship

Spain returns to the Under 19 throne after 5 years: it’s the fifth world title in this category. Cortijo’s boys became champions with a careful but substantially precise match on the occasions they had. The efficiency of the direct shots was decisive: the first in the 4th minute by Casas, the second in the 16th minute of the second half of the Copa. In the middle, Vitor Oliveira equalized again from a direct shot. It was a correct and intense match, and in the final also a sensational post from Portugal which would have meant a draw.
The silver medal goes to Portugal, while the bronze goes to Argentina. The South Americans won 7-4 against the hosts Italy. A 10 minute break was decisive because with those three goals the Bronze award was decided.
France is in fifth place, winning 7-2 against Chile (hat-trick for Gelebart), while Switzerland is in seventh place, winning 4-1 against Colombia (twice for Loris Thonen)
The Intercontinental Championship is won by Germany 8-3 over Andorra. the Germans ranked ninth overall, the Andorrans tenth. It’s one more place for Europe for the next World Championship, while America loses one place. Eleventh place for Great Britain, winning 13-1 over India, twelfth.
